Soda Butte Creek and Reese Creek: An Evaluation to Inform Vital Signs Monitoring

Results from this project provide one source of information used to develop a monitoring strategy for Soda Butte Creek and Reese Creek in and near Yellowstone National Park. These water bodies are listed as impaired by the State of Montana. An evaluation of water quality, toxic metals in bed sediments, biological data, and habitat quality led to a recommended monitoring strategy for assessing basic stream health and integrity in a rigorous fashion that could withstand legal challenge.
