An Archeological Survey of Perennial Snow and Ice Patches in Yellowstone National Park

Project Type:  Inventory
Project Status:  Ongoing

During this study the Institute of Alpine and Acrtic Research will examine ice patches and outflow channels around several high peaks in Yellowstone National Park to determine if any archeological specimens exist and have been preserved in the patches. If artifacts are found, the recovered specimens can provide insight into Native American pre-history.
